My Name is Leo McPherson and I am a multi-instrumental music teacher, specialising in rock drums.
I have been working professionally as a musician for over a decade, most prominently with the critically acclaimed rock band Estrella. I have gained an invaluable wealth of experience embarking on several tours of the UK and Europe, performing with such artists as Robin Beck, House of Lords, Tyketto, The Answer, H.E.A.T and Enuff Z’Nuff to name a few. I have also performed at some of the continent’s leading rock and metal festivals, such as Download, Hard Rock Hell, and the award-winning Wildfire Festival.

As the drummer of Estrella I have recorded two full-length studio albums, the first produced by John Sinclair (former keyboard player for Ozzy Osbourne, Uriah Heep & The Cult) and the second by Nick Brine (producer of Thunder, Oasis & The Darkness).

I have worked in some of the country’s best recording studios, including the world famous Rockfield Studios in Wales. (This is the very studio where Queen’s “A Night at the Opera” was recorded, as well as Rush’s “Hemispheres” and “A Farewell to Kings”. Recording drums in the same spot as my drumming hero Neil Peart was a career high for me!)
In the North of Scotland I also perform with many traditional Scottish musical acts, such as Whigmaleerie and Cheviot, as well as the celtic fusion act The Whisky Bandits.
